Psalm 34:1-10

“I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; the humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together. I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked to Him and were radiant, and their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them. Oh taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him, Oh fear the Lord, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him, the young lions lack and suffer hunger; but those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.”

Scripture teaches us here that there is “…no want to those who fear Him…those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.”  What an incredible promise.

In the midst of our fast paced and often “me” centered world we can easily become driven by material possessions and worldly success. But when we turn to Scripture, we find that as we fear the Lord and totally trust His plan and direction for our lives we are no longer driven by those things. We are no longer driven by them because we understand that as we fear the Lord, He has promised us to provide us with all we need to accomplish His will and plan for our lives, leaving us with no want! When we come to understand that God will meet all of our needs and leave us wanting for nothing, we then come to understand what His peace means to our daily lives.

We are reminded of this in the 23rd Psalm when David writes, “The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want.”

Would you thank God this morning for the promise that as His child you shall not lack anything needed to accomplish His will? Would you thank God that His riches are limitless and freely available to all who fear Him?

Lord Jesus, thank you for meeting all of my needs according to Your glorious plan for my life. Thank You for supplying me with al I need to accomplish Your good pleasure…
